Prakriti Magar, 25, walked in a stiff wind near the village of Mijhing in Nepal’s remote Rolpa district, a seven-hour drive from the nearest city along twisting mountain roads.

Here, access to basic health services and information often depends on community health outreach workers like Prakriti, who travel by foot across this mountainous terrain to reach pregnant women and new moms.
