In Tibetan Buddhism, the Adi-Buddha is the "Primordial Buddha." The term refers to a self-emanating, self-originating Buddha, present before anything else existed. Five (Pancha) Meditation Buddhas are emanated from Adi-buddha. There are five meditating Buddhas. They are not separate gods. They are just abstract aspects of Buddha hood. They are also often called Tathagta. In Nepal , they are found in every big and small stupas, in courtyards; and also found painted in the main entrance of the Buddhist homes. Five Buddhas are always seated in meditation position in the following order: · Vairochana who occupies centre of the Mandala · Akshobhya in the east · Ratna Sambha in the south · Amitabha in the west · Amoghsidhi in the north
